Why do high-end cars adopt double wishbone or multi link
suspension
Currently, most high-end models in the world adopt double
wishbone or multi-link suspensions rather than MacPherson
suspensions. Although MacPherson is also a type of independent
suspension, its structural limitations inherently lead to poor
performance under specific road conditions, which is one of the
reasons why many car enthusiasts criticize the Lexus ES series.
At the launch event, Richard Yu, the President of Huawei's
Intelligent Automotive BU, claimed that the double wishbone
suspension used in their vehicles is comparable to those found
in million-dollar cars, which may seem like a "misleading
statement" to some extent. However, objectively speaking, the
advantages of double wishbone and multi-link suspensions are
indeed evident.
